Day 006/100 of Round 6 of the [#100DaysToOffload](https://100daystooffload.com/) challenge.
A new year, a new *logbook*.
I have been journaling for five years, since I started blogging again.
During those years, I tried many notebooks brands: Moleskine, Leuchtturm1917, and Dingbats. This year, I finally found the perfect notebooks for my bullet journaling and logbook.
My Bullet Journal (BuJo) typically lasts over a year because I don’t fill it. This year, I’m using only one for both tasks. I’m using the Leuchtturm1917 120 g edition. The paper is great: thick and smooth. It’s way better than their 80 g standard ones. Pages are numbered, you get the pocket at the end of the notebook, 2 page markers that I love.
The small details are perfect. These are far superior to the Moleskine ones I used before. My child got one for Christmas and has started journaling too.
###### How I use it
My BuJo starts with:
- an index of topics and page numbers. This is included with the notebook.
- On a separate page, I put all the days off for this year.
- A page with my family, and friends birthdays.
- Another one with the starting, and ending dates of books I read.
- I also create a page for movies I want to see or track.
Then, I have the current month spread over two pages:

January 2025 - How I track things
On the left page, which is divided in two, I have my *calendar*. This has any important dates, meetings, or events. The right part shows what I want to track:
- Sleep
- K8S, I’ll prepare the exam
- 5AM wake up time
- OSINT articles / tools I want to try
- Rust language
- I’m learning Portuguese
- The blog posts
- Log for my journaling
- Reading
- Water 1L / day at least
- Workout
- Alcohol, to see how a couple of drinks can impact my mood, and sleep.
- Weight
When I’m done with one of the things above, I black out the box, or put a dot if I failed.
On the right page, I write down my monthly goals.
The next ten pages are dedicated to my tasks for the current month. Each two pages looks like this ▼

My week spread over two pages
The left page has:
- BOTW - Best of the week
- WOTW - Worst of the week
That’s where I write good/bad things of the week.
- BDAYS - Any birthday I don’t want to miss.
- Movies / TVshows that I saw for my monthly review I post on the blog.
- Books I’m reading this week.
The bottom half is for notes that I will review later, and add to my Zettelkasten if they are worth it.
The right page is a standard BuJo page with tasks. Here’s how my system works:
- X the task done
- \> task reported to the next day
- < task reported for later in my *calendar*
- o an event
- ? a question or idea
- ~~I cross out a task not needed anymore~~
I will create those pages, and then I will have all the space I need for my journaling without affecting my tasks. The other benefit is that I only need to carry one notebook.
The Leuchtturm1917 has two page markers. I use one for the current week, and one for the calendar page. It’s really useful.
###### Conclusion
This setup is perfect. It’s easy to carry and it has all the features I need.
Do you have multiple notebooks? Only one? How do you do bullet or non-bullet journaling?
Tell me what your setup is.
