![[Polyphasic-Charts.jpg]] Where someone sleeps more than once in a 24 hour period. The opposite of [[monophasic]] sleep. [[Biphasic sleep]] is the most common, with plenty of countries practising afternoon [[nap]]s/[[siesta]]s. I prefer [[monophasic]] myself. Because whilst I often get a large energy dip between 15:00 and 18:00 these days (my 30s), it can still take me quite a while to get off to sleep and I often wake up from a nap feeling groggy and low-energy. To I try and avoid biphasic sleep. For a few weeks whilst at University I experimented with dymaxion/uberman sleep (can't remember which). My body got used to it quite quickly, but I didn't like it. You couldn't do anything that took a lot of time, because you'd miss a sleep block. Also, the days blurred together because I didn't have a large block of sleep at the end of the day. I could never remember what day I did something. *** Created: [[2024-11-02]]
